Don't turn your shoulders in the golf swing if you want to hit driver longer. Golfer's make this mistake all the time and you won't just lose distance you will struggle to hit driver straight.

In this golf lesson Danny Maude reveals exactly how the shoulders work in the golf backswing AND downswing. Improving how you rotate in the golf swing enables you to do two things:

1. Store energy in the backswing
2. Release that energy at the perfect time at impact

What you will enjoy about these simple golf tips is they can be taken straight to the course because Danny will help you feel and visualise the perfect golf swing.

Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website ( I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

This golf lesson provides a couple of wonderful drills to help you hit your driver straight. If you are a beginner golfer and are looking for some golf driver tips that are simple and easy to do then you are going to love this.

I will show you the golf swing slow motion so that you can see what you need to do to improve.

We look at 3 things:

1. How to stop slicing your driver
2. How to swing more in to out or how to swing more inside out
3, How to get the correct impact position with driver

Danny Maude says:

The golf swing should be much easier than we make it. I’ve created a free guide for you here to go with this video. I hope you enjoy

Colin Henderson says:

Great video Danny! Easy to follow and very clear. Is it best to film yourself from behind to figure out the problem?

Pinky SidA says:

K,. Nm(::(())0

Sheriff Bullcrap says:

Danny, the magic distance doesn't come from getting a lot of new driver or more backswing, it comes from speed, if u don't have speed doesnt what u do

Ranger of the North says:

V good video

Alan Harbinson says:

Great video Danny you (and your team) got the augmented reality stuff bang on with the overlaid arcs… really helped to get the story across and top notch concepts and instructions as always 👍

Mark Farrugia says:

Great way to look and simplify the arc of the swing. Thanks Danny.

It's all about the Z900 says:

Another gem mate! Heading back to the UK for crimbo so gonna get a few cold games in ( hand warmers at the ready ) but will be taking this one to the range first.
Cheers mate 👍

patrick gorey says:

turning your head is limited by eye dominance. I lose sight of the ball turning my head to the right.solutiom?

Bryan Bailey says:

Great stuff to visualize, especially the quick push shot analysis. Thanks man!

Jerz says:

Great video. If u struggle w turning ur lower half try moving your trail foot back a little but swing on the same path. Good trick for seniors and ppl w limited flexibility

Steve Campbell says:

I assume this same circle works for irons as well as driver?

Patrick McCabe says:

With out a doubt the best teacher on UT .

Steve Campbell says:

The graphics/animations are both fun and a great aid to understanding the concepts being presented. Two thumbs up, I hope they are here to stay.

Seven Oranges says:

Nice video thank you. But the problem I have is my right trail shoulder hitting my chin in the downswing. So the axis is very flat and I have no idea how I get to the ball. How do I train to drop my right shoulder in the downswing please?

obligatory mime says:

I cannot fathom why I can only hit it between 175 and 220…… averaging around 190…… is it ALL technique??
This has most certainly made me hit the ball straighter tho for sure…. so thanx Danny!!!!

james davidson says:

great lesson, thanks, and I love the special effects .

Daniel Grassman says:

Great tips, thank you, Danny!

John C says:

Great, thanks.

Duane Martin says:

Thanks Danny!
You always verify some of the things I personally struggle with, and this is one of them.
BTW…. Didn’t Jack Nicholas have a very obvious head turn, looking at the ball out the corner of his left eye?

Brian Hughes says:

Thanks Danny, love this instruction. In terms of the shoulder turn on the backswing, should I be feeling some slight bend to my left ribcage or not? Trying to get correct feeling for this. Cheers

Pedro lourenço says:

Best tip ever, after practicing on the driving range I could see immediate results with the driver and woods. I have only failed one fairway today and it was a massive diference on my game. Thanks Danny

Dave Bryanton says:

After watching this – makes me believe my hips and shoulders should move on a parallel plane.
