Great way to spend 5 minutes. I come back to it about every 5 months to watch again. Thanks for the post!!
There is no secret, never was a secret. He thought about the problem and figured out how to square up the club head better on each swing and not hook the ball. Good grief. Anyone can do it if you work on it. How can something be a secret when you're looking right at it?
He looks like a golfing machine.
Best swing in golf Period
Amazing that the guy regarded as the best ball striker of all time looked like he was swinging out of his shoes most of the time. If I didn't know who was the best ball striker I would guess someone with a easy smooth swing like Ernie Els.
He talks about having elbows point at hips in 5 lessons. And the ropes around arms. But he did not play like that.
This was an 8 mm film taken by me Carl Welty. 1959 Colonial ! The last tournament he WON !
Mr. Hogan is a more limber man than I am. I am having fun trying to adapt his techniques to my golf swing.
The greatest
Who is the guy talking to hogan @1:20? He appears quite serious and then gestures towards him again shortly thereafter. Was it hogans fade affecting his shagboy? just sayn.
Excellent Video
The best Hogan swing video on u tube thank u so much
Great job!! Thanks Hyno!!!
This is awesome and my favorite U2 song, you got some dynamite videos. Much appreciated & Subscribed!
The source video of this on VHS was absolutely terrible, the quality beyond a disaster. The frame rate of the video was all messed up. To create this video out of that slop was totally amazing. If you think for 1 second this what the footage looked like, you are wrong. The video was spliced up, cut, mixed and the frame rate changed. Not many people can do this type of work, this is a Hyno Designs video.
O K Ralph, if this is your footage where was it taken and what year ? Carl Welty
You forget because you didn't take the film. Most likely you took it off the two Hogan tapes Jim and I did or got it from Ralph. Carl Welty
He said he came close to perfecting it well sir Hogan you did and so much more! Beautiful this is what happens when you overcome, you become great.
This is like watching a well-oiled machine repeat perfection over and over again.
I forget what range this was, it is not AUGUSTA……
Thank you for this gift of such inspirational excellence. Wish only for year of original footage. Looks like old range at Augusta.

This video also had tons of random flicker, noise in the picture, millions of random errors. Really wish you people could understand the complex nature of restoration of video. Than the video again was cut up in to thousands of segments and placed together.
Ralph knows this is my video of Ben Hogan ! Can you name the location and date ? Carl Welty
@ralphsunnyside you were given credit in the video info section. When the channel was shut down, no longer had all the org uploaded videos. Only used back-up files. The work needed to re-do the videos was not worth the time. Really can no longer do YouTube videos do to the costs of production and lack of donations. Right now the only work that is being done is Video Restoration of older recordings for clients.
Wow – great footage – thanks for posting. I never really noticed how active his left knee and left thigh are in starting and leading the downswing
The fellow kneeling in the foreground??? Sam Byrd? Anyone?
