I am Tom Saguto, PGA Member and founder of SagutoGolf. Thank you for visiting my instructional page where you can find how to get on the fast track to improving your golfing abilities. Whether you are a seasoned golfing veteran looking for a quick swing tune-up after an on-course emergency, or a beginner just looking to get the most out of your golfing experience, I am here to help you achieve your golfing goals.

My mission as your swing doctor is simple, to help you maximize your enjoyment in game of golf. Because, let’s face it, golf is a hard game.

My philosophy is wholly based on the student having a fun, meaningful experience in a frustrating and complicated game where potential lifelong golfers either quit because it is too difficult or that they experience some form of swing-related pain or discomfort. I mitigate these problems by focusing entirely on the student’s needs and goals while teaching a golf swing method that ultimately takes stress off of the common pain areas of the swing.

  1. Tom,

I have & use the divot board already. A great feedback vehicle. I practice every day w/the board just using the board and a club. My goal is better and consistent contact. The board gives you that immediate feedback as to where your club is making first contact.
I even take it to the range and hit balls using it. The board gives you that immediate feedback.
When I hit the ball first and have proper form, I can gain an additional 10-30 yards on clubs.
Thanks again for another awesome video.

  2. This is another great video Mr. Saguto. Great advice on keys to crispy contact. That abbreviated swing seems comparable to a punch shot. I’ve found some of my crispiest contact is when I go to the range and start with some punch shots. That divot board is awesome. I’ll be grabbing one for me and my dad. Also, your practice area is beautiful.

  3. Hey Tom, I just signed up to your online classes today and it's so cool. I'm learning so much, thank you for sharing your knowledge. I took your crispy KFC knowledge to the range this morning, with some gravy, and I couldn't believe it. I added 20-40 yards to my drives, 2 irons (off the tee), 7 irons and PW shots. The contact was so much more enjoyable. My slice was cured too and once I got tired, my old habits of rolling the hands came up, and then came the slice again… But! I knew what was happening and how to correct it. This was my first day of playing better, body friendly fun golf. I want to thank you, and look forward to more of your great entertaining golf lessons. All the best, Jamie.

  4. Can’t hit the ball more than a foot of the air again I’m hitting right ontop of the golf ball my swing is awful again my grip is bad I have to hold the club for dear life to even swing it I’ve killed my back again really unsure how far to stand away I’ve gone back to how I was when I first hit a golf ball no matter what I try I can’t hit the ball properly

  5. Saguto Golf Academy member here, I play golf at least once a week with my older brother for the last year and a half. He's a shifter and lifter, it worked for him last week when we played, he had lots of GIR's and many birdie possibilities and a lot of tap in pars. He's been itching all week to get back out and do it again. We played yesterday, I've never seen him hit the ball with his irons so poorly. On the last hole, when I hit a 4 iron 180 yards and put the ball 5 feet from the stick(which I missed the birdie putt, but I didn't care). He said, "when you go home tell your wife this was your best iron play ever." It wasn't just from that one shot, but many others also. He's very competitive with me and when he does poorly, he tends to go into his own world and get frustrated, so getting that compliment was a big deal from him. I've had a pinched nerve in my neck, so I've had to shorten my back swing some to avoid pain, this type of swing WORKS! Thanks Tom!

  6. Couple of things

    # Left Shoulder down find the Ground

    # Getting my hands more passive on the backswing as I was over hinging and getting an inconsistent wrist action in my strike

    # Trying to hold the club with all my hand more tighter as opposed to having a loose grip on my ring and pinky fingers making it slide about in my hands at times
