How to hit a driver straight. If you would like to stop your slice or hook and hit much straighter drivers you need to control your club face.

To hit a golf ball straight the club face needs to be square at impact and for this to happen you will need to have the correct set up, swing path through impact and club face feel.

In this weeks training you will learn how to do all of the above, if you like the training give it a thumbs up and if you have already consider subscribing here:

ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

November Whiskey says:

You speak a lot of sense in this video 🙂

peter osgood says:

great videos as always I shall be trying this out at the range

michael kirkbright says:

Danny, just to let you know that the “double” tee peg drill worked really well for me. It straightened the drives out almost straightaway. Thanks for that. 1 question, the 1 foot guide for the back tee peg,is that the same distance if I want to practise with my 3 and 5 fairway woods too or is it a slightly shorter distance?

Alan Gregory says:

Hi Danny how does the forty second rule for taking your shot apply is there a penalty for going over forty seconds
Love the teaching videos I am seventy years old and you have made a huge difference to my play after my back surgery
Cheers
Alan Gregory

Ryan Thompson says:

This videeeoooowww

Paul Boyd says:

Thanks again, another great lesson. Would you recommend having your feet parallel to the target line or slightly closed?

is that a fact says:

Were in the swing should you feel your knuckles turn

bill davidson says:

Another great video Danny. One of my twin sons (15 years old and a lefty) is having difficult time launching his M1 into the air, often topping it (still hits it about 200 yards). I am having trouble helping him because he is a lefty. I am going to show him this video, and going to have him try putting the tee behind the ball as per this video, we will see what happens. His righty brother who launches it about 280 on the fly (he rolled it past the pro on the other end of the driving range yesterday) could also use this as he pushes it to the right sometimes. Happy New year to you and all the best for 2019.

illmaticBatsi says:

Hello Danny, New subscriber here all the way in the Bahamas…Wanted to know, which hand do you feel is most dominant in your swing?

Mister Feola says:

Danny !!!
Gosh darn it!!!!
Can't believe Your sharing this outstanding knowledge!!!! You explain the critical points so simply.
I can't thank you enough.

Stuart Wright says:

Danny shaft lean in driver is something I’ve been looking at a fair bit- Justin Thomas and Jamie sadlowski 2 big hitters I can think of that have backward shaft lean at address but I’ve tried it- have an epic like yourself- standard settings 9 degree and when I put backward lean it closes face massively? Unless I open it up and add a ton of loft which doesn’t seem right?

Alan Young says:

Hi Danny,
After I watched this I realised that my hands were level with, or in front of the club head with my usual set-up. Took your instructions to the range and found that I was getting the ball right out of the middle of the club. Didn't notice that you had set up with the club head 4 inches behind the ball though (spotted in your comment below). That looks like tomorrow's tweak! Keep the tips coming, I just love the way you are piecing together a half decent game for me.

Dan Linehan says:

Well done, Danny. Off to the practice range now.

Paul Miller says:

Watched this again and still so relevant for me, only problem I have is I slice then over compensate a and start to hook, trying to find the happy medium now. Work to be done over winter. Great instruction, keep them coming.?

Juraj Sinanovic says:

Danny, is the set-up (foot, hands, head) the same for T-shot with hybrid? Thanks!

Jonathan Lambert says:

Hi Danny
I'm replying to a video you made about the takeaway. Keeping the wrists still on the first part.

My game was so bad before I tried you drlll. I had no proper sensation of how the first part of the swing should feel.. Your drill worked so well it gave me the feeling iv been looking for. I found that my arms keeping the triangle shape. Also my trail side felt like it was really loading properly.
It wasn't an overnight thing. I have practicing it for a month. Such a big thank you
Thirty years of playing rubbish countless lessons. Then your drill
solves it.

Chris Harris says:

How high should the ball be tee’d up ?

David Tew says:

How high should you have the tee for the driver

kai sanders says:

Danny I haven't used my driver for a few years. Use my 3 Wood nowadays I hit it a lot straighter. My driver had a big perminent fade. Almost like my swing was out to in

Daniel McCrae says:

Super funny tennis mimics 😉
