Learn how to take the golf club away in the backswing. The first move in the backswing we call the golf swing takeaway. For many golfers learning to get a great backswing takeaway feeling can transform your golf swing. Many swing faults in the downswing can be caused during the first few feet of your backswing – your golf takeaway.

You will often see player like Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Jason Day and Justin Thomas still working on this fundamental part of the golf swing on a regular basis

Learning how to take the club online on the backswing can prevent unnecessary compensations (faults) such as over the top and the opening and closing of the club face.

Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website ( I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

  1. By far the best instruction and explanation of the back swing that I have seen. I have started to break my wrists and it is wreaking havoc with my game, I'm now in search of a orange swing trainer (type of aid) Thanks Danny.

  2. Very well presented information. Don't have an orange ball but using medicus 5 iron. I can track the face and not be wippy. Thanks for this tip!

  3. Just a word of thank you Maude from Portugal. I’ve just started, still struggling with my body posture but your lessons have been very helpful. You have definitely one more Fan and Follower.

  4. Me I,m benefiting…you are the best Danny, thanks! this is what I needed. I wanted to ask "which is first" all week… Together.. thank you now I can figure out a more positive swing thought… If I shoot my age from forward trees, not ladies' tees does it count? It's a lot easier with shorter irons. Playa Dorada has blue, green, and white for men.

  5. That leverage for the left hand is seldom mentioned. Thank you. Makes a lot of sense. If the orange comes off in the garden and hits a neighbours green house, how are you going to explain this?

  6. Danny, I've been watching your videos for the best couple of months. I'm 55yr old male 5ft 6" recently got into golf about 4 months ago. My question is, would you know what size of the orange whip I should get, I golf with hybrids? Any help would be motived helpful. Thank you
