I talk a lot in videos about how the hips work in terms of rotation, but in this video, I talk about how they work up and down in the golf swing. I want to provide you some simple thoughts and feels you can use to gain power and distance. I also show you a close look at how Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson are using these exact same moves in their own swings.

  1. Awesome! Will you address the obliques——if I don’t use them my downswing suffers! When I do – I can get over to my left and finish my swing? Your thoughts? Thanks always- Todd

  2. You might want to check your paid website. Used IPad to maybe join from the link you provided. Apple blocked it and said dangerous unsecure website. Obviously I didn’t click to proceed. This might be costing you some members

  3. The range of motion of our hip joint is only around 20 degrees. And one side swivels up the other side swivels down. When we stop the swiveling of our independent hip joints and attempt to turn our hips joints as a singular hip this is where we get our selves in trouble. Our knees and feet responds in kind to our swiveling 'hips'. Cheers.

  4. Another great video Eric! Noticing how soon in the downswing (Justin Thomas) begins this upward movement. One of the most important things that I have come to realize in learning/incorporating new swing movements into my golf swing is how fast the downswing really is ( ~0.25 seconds). Golf instruction is typically taught in a slow-motion format. It would be almost impossible to see/learn new movements watching the instructor/the Pros swing full speed. In my humble opinion, most of us struggle hitting the ball well because we do not initiate the proper movements in the downswing soon enough.
