The USGA is a nonprofit organization that celebrates, serves and advances the game of golf. Founded in 1894, we conduct many of golf’s premier professional and amateur championships, including the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open. With The R&A, we govern the sport via a global set of playing, equipment, handicapping and amateur status rules. The USGA campus in Liberty Corner, New Jersey, is home to the Association’s Research and Test Center, where science and innovation are fueling a healthy and sustainable game for the future. The campus is also home to the USGA Golf Museum, where we honor the game by curating the world’s most comprehensive archive of golf artifacts. To learn more, visit https://www.usga.org.

What if after a shot is made, the player immediately repair the bunker with his feet, only to find the ball roll back to the exact same spot a good 20-30sec later.

@Berghiker says:

You should also say how many penalty shots you get if you do.

Can I go into another bunker my ball isn’t in and test the condition

@kelder29 says:

Can you sole your club in the bunker (10 ft away from your ball or anywhere not directly in front or behind the ball) to get your grip?

@Cryptonomics7 says:

Whats penalty for grounding club or testing the condition of bunker? I played in tournament and guy clearly was raking the bunker before his shot testing the depth of sand and even changing the lie. He bladed it anywyas but seems he was in violation.

Such a strange rule .. Everywhere else on the course you can take as many practice swings as you'd like.
