Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

  1. I watched this at the beginning of the year as a 15 handicap and now I’m a 10 and I understand the concept so much better after having dialed my swing in all season long. Can’t wait to try it out. Especially with driver.

  2. Fade: so open the face, but aim club slightly left of target? Wouldn’t an open face be the definition of aiming the club slightly right of target? Confused. I’m positive I’m missing something. Replayed it several times … can you help? ? Thanks.

  3. I read many comments of new golfers trying these shots…. don't !! It's way too early and not necessary for a high hcp to learn them. Focus on hitting the ball straight first, get your score lower to 90, then you can start thinking about these shots!! The only exception is the low ball, because you will NEED that at any handicap and it's fairly easy to pull off. My new golfer friends, don't bother with fade and draw, that's something for advanced players! You will do more harm than good if you're high handicap, filling your brain with theories you aren't going to need. Trust me 🙂

  4. so way back when i started golfing i was much better than i am now in my older years. but when i could move the ball i learned set up the way you want you ball to start but aim club face at target it worked when i use chain store clubs when younger. can I still do that with the newer "game improvement clubs"

  5. Hi Rick,

just started playing golf and your video's really are helpful. I don't suppose you could do an update on your golf alignment video please, the last one as far as I can see was 2012 (glow up much pal), it would help alot

  6. Where I live we get crazy wind sometime. Into the wind I find an easy trick is to just club up 2 clubs and don't swing hard. It will come out low with low spin and will bounce through the wind better then playing the ball back in your stance and punching it with a full swing. Just something an old guy told me on the course once and it works for me.

  7. My natural shot is a draw, but I cannot draw my driver consistently? So frustrating, I usually push the ball right which stuffs my natural draw up on the next shot. Not even your technique helps me Rick ?

  8. "I'm much more programmed to hit a draw…"

Rick, mate, you are telling the TRUTH. Watching you in your matches is just waiting for the BOOMERANG left! Nearly every shot!

  9. Very interesting but I guess most middle to high handicap amateurs who probably makes up the vast majority of golfers would settle for hitting the ball consistently straight.
