Improve your backswing and downswing by feeling how to rotate correctly. Its not what you think!

In this weeks Video Danny Maude reveals one of the biggest mistakes golfers make when they try to turn/rotate in the golf swing. Learn how this mistake kills your distance and effects your overall accuracy of both your irons and your driver.

The easy swing drill reveals how golfers can naturally move their bodies to create ball first contact and much straighter drives.

ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Ross Masters says:

Danny.
I've been playing for about 2 years now. I've always hit at the ball with my arms and recently found a video demonstrating how rotating the body (shoulders/chest in particular) will automatically allow the club to go out towards the ball and back in to create an arch. What are your thoughts on this? Is this what everyone does that i've been missing? Thanks!

Powderkeg says:

5:18 I thought my phone froze ?. Good tips. Thank you.

Toto M says:

Wow Danny , so well explained . Thank you ??

TeeJay Zenker says:

Wow Danny, you should really do this for a living? this swing thought and movement really simplifies the swing. Many thanks ??

T. Pisani says:

My only problem with this is it seems like it makes you lock out your trail leg in the backswing which I'm told I need to avoid. Or maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Tom B says:

Amazing. This is what I have changed over and over but this is such a great easy feeling. Thank you.

jez davison says:

This is exactly what I need. ??

Scott Kennedy says:

This is actually a really important concept to get across. By focusing specifically on that using the whole corkscrew feeling while lifting (almost feels like dragging) the club into the backswing from the grip and not bending the club back with the wrists, it’s an entirely unique feeling that has a very free flowing sensation as long as you stay centered. I really put this whole thing into practice and you can ABSOLUTELY feel when you making any intentional interruptions to that smooth flow. The club suddenly feels out of sync. Once you feel that momentary pause at the top of the clubs momentum, you automatically feel that set up for the whipping motion that gets you a really solid feeling of compression on contact with the ball. As long as you stay centered at your core (and the more you let go of trying to control the club) and swing that club through the plane with what feels like a very natural whipping of that club, your weight, oddly enough, just shifts to you front forward heel as you swing through the ball. It’s hard to describe what that feels like, but it feels oddly in control the more you let go of trying to control that club. Sorry for being a bit wordy, but like I said, it’s hard to describe. But when you feel it, it’s awesome and the consistency in power and accuracy is incredibly satisfying.

I’ve put everything Danny has instructed to the test and it has completely changed my game for the best. God I sound like such a fan boy, LMAO!!! But it all works!! I’m dead serious!!! ?????

Ty says:

GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT TIP WORKS IMMEDIATELY. AND FOREVER. ONLY INSTRUCTION I'VE SEEN THAT WORKS. FAST.. GOOD JOB DANNY

Bill S says:

Danny, this video is about 2 years old but just came across my feed. I’ve been struggling with shifting weight, rotating my hips and swaying away from the target. This makes so much sense. Thank you!!!

John Leo says:

Thanks! This is brilliant!!!!

Mike Podchynok says:

Hi Danny, is this exercise for irons and woods only?

T C says:

I do not play a lot of golf. I actually tried practicing this method inside my house. One night it clicked and I could finally make a full turn. Before this I was actually just turning my upper body and when I tried to turn more I'd actually release my grip and regrip the club at the top of the swing.

This afternoon I finally took this to a local 12 Hole Golf Course. I played the best golf I've ever played.

I'm 61 years old now and I hit the ball further and straighter than I have ever hit before

Thank You Danny !!!

tonny calalay says:

Your videos are all fantastic and very useful, I’m a new golfer and been watching all your videos, so glad that you’re sharing your excellent techniques without charge, a big fan of all your videos ?

kayruleanuar says:

I love u Mr Danny.. This help me so much.. You are the best coach among all other youtube coaches..

Rick Hammel says:

I noticed when being filmed today that my left leg is still bent a bit at impact, and my hips are just a little ahead of squared up. I'm still hitting my drives about 310-330, and average about 210 yards with my 6 iron. Should I be worried about the knee and hips at all? I have a torn meniscus in the left knee, and I know that's a little of the problem.

Fam van der Kraan says:

I have been watching youtube golf video's for 2 years, and that helps, usually incremental. This one is one of the best I came accross. This was the missing link for me, and how simple can things be, thanks Danny!

Tuan Nguyen says:

OMG – This is 1 of the best videos to help with rotation and weight transfer.

Mike Slattery says:

Hi Danny , i love your enthusiasm when you are explaining your drills to help us golfers . Can i use this drill to improve my terrible driving ?

James Craven says:

As someone who broke down and fixed my own swing, this was the thing that completely changed it. I was too much on my toes; shifting to the heels during the backswing out everything else into place. A+

Carol Jones says:

Just finished 18 holes. My best score this year. Your info is excellent!

Frank Ferrara says:

You mentioned the diagonal shift to the left after the backswing, but you don’t seem to actually do that in your actual swing. Looks like your downswing is just transferring weight from the right heel to the left heel, and getting onto the right toe as you swing through.

Tommy Eden says:

Why is it, in the history of youtube and all the lessons I have every taken, nobody has ever explained to me that it is a straight line motion? I mean look, I play a lot of golf and practice 3-4 times a week. I get my clubs fitted to me and I take regular lessons. I have the "good player miss" which we know is a hook caused by sliding. I am told not to slide, but I can never figure out why I am sliding or how to stop it. In 10m you explained to me how rotation really works and now, no more sliding (at least when i don't get lazy). Pure gold, well done, I am sharing this we people I don't play money games against 😛
