Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.
Rick… I have improved my drive by watching your 3 part driver videos. I have a G20. I don’t see how I can hit it better.
Can anyone provide info on the difference between the SFT and the MAX with the weight in the heel position? I've read somewhere there is about 10 yards difference in right to left shaping (right hander). Cheers
HATE The Sound or lack of Sound of this driver!
Picked this up today….gone from sliding 80% to strait shots almost 100%
Was already planning to get the 425max but Rick that last statement has just totally convinced me to get it! Thanks for review!
I got fitted for the Max last week. It is incredible forgiving. The shots I felt like I hooked it went as far as the good shots and only 5-10 yards left. Cant wait for it to get here
I’m just not sure if I like the way this club looks
Be more clear on which driver you are using 9 degree or 10.5.
Well he just sold me. If I ever learn how to hit my current driver consistently straight I’ll be upgrading to the Max 425.
Just bought one today, amazing club, just a tweak on the weight to heal fixed my slice, now perfect shots, love it
Hi Rick first off all congrats with you walk for the good cause. Let me know if i can still make donation
Can you advise me please ? I had a fitting session with Ping 425 max vs Titleist TSi2
Ping was much easier to play, much more consistent
So would you choose the Ping or Titleist ( TSR…) , Will there be a big difference between TSi2 and TsR2
By the way im hcp 16,6
At the 6:00 mark his drives started getting synced with the music!!!
You should add standard deviation with your carry yards. Would help tell the story better than just avg. Great review!
Really? Mine always goes left, lol…
Anyone know the name of the song at the start of the video?
Swore he said similar about simMax 2 that was the best driver..
I am/was a pretty big slicer. Was using a Taylormade Jetspeed for almost the last decade. Have been constantly told it was my swing by others and always believed it. The driver always just felt unnatural to me. Wasnt till I found that I was hitting the heal and causing a gear effect that my slice toned down. However, when hitting on center the club still never felt comfortable. No confidence with it off the tee, even a good hit wouldnt feel right. Using a stiff graphite shaft. So I just went and got fitted for a driver. I swung every driver they had and it came down to the latest Titliest and this Ping driver. We went to the launch monitor and I still could hit them well with stiff graphite shaft, but still lacked the consistency I was aiming for or that confidence factor. So after looking the data, my fitter changed up the shaft, he gave me the stiffer steel tour shaft with same head. I have never hit so many balls so straight and long off the tee in my life. It was easy and effortless. I am so excited to have this club in my bag and really establish that confidence off the tee for years. I enjoy watching all of Rick's videos here and finding him test the driver I just purchased (even if I am a year late) excites me further. Really wish I made the change years ago as the tee box has been a massive achelis heal of mine with lots of balls sliced into the tree and ponds.
Its my favourite club, i hit a massive drive on 7th, hit the fairway… on 9th. Made a 7.
There is no way that putting grooves out into airflow on top of the club will decrease drag. Golf clubs are not aerodynamic. All golf clubs have flat ish faces. Golfers are so gullible. What you want to do is smooth the airflow over the club which is not possible with the grooves and the sharpness of the edge with the clubface. Believe the lies if you want.
One year later and the 425 max is still 550 usd. Even used they’re like 400
I recently bought this driver and it’s the best driver I’ve ever own. Amazing!!!
