The driver swing is so much easier when you follow a simple system. Many of Danny Maude's students have the same questions you have:

How do you hit driver straight? How do I hit driver consistently? How to hit driver further? More importantly how can I do all this without having to think of too many things over the golf ball.

You see over the years the golf swing has been chopped up and dissected into so many pieces it can sometime feel like it will take forever to learn.

But don't believe that. This is the old school way.

The new school way is to learn your swing. We are all built differently, different shapes and sizes, different levels of strength and flexibility. Should we all swing it the same way?

Take a look at the the hottest golfers in the world right now. Dustin Johnson, Colin Morikawa, Mathew Wolff. They have chosen to adopt the new school way. They have chosen to find a golf swing that works for them rather than fit into a model that someone has designed.

In this weeks golf lesson I give you an amazing golf drill that will truly help you hit driver straight, hit driver further and hit driver consistently.

ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Best one yet!

pacothetaco556 says:

Love your vids Danny, keep up the good work. 🙂

Alexis Knows says:

Thanks for the tips , I am going to slow my swing down (3/4 swing) an try draw the ball ( I have a bad slice ) using your helpful tips. The stronger grip method is not working for me .

Willie Tyndall says:

After this past week and having struggled with distance and accuracy of the driver, this lesson is spot on. Will be putting these steps into action this coming week.

Brian Johnson says:

1:23 You should freeze-frame this shot & make it into a T-shirt.

Tim Gooley says:

Thanks Danny, what ball tracking system do you use?

col walker says:

At 9:10 your cut shot low point was well after the ball. Which if you're doing that it says to me that it must be difficult to hit up on ball and hit a deliberate fade

Leland Hopkins says:

I spent 2 days with my driver and now Im supper excited to say, that my slice is gone..Ive got the back swing feeling good …..The main differece is I have my left shoulder rotating down thru impact, then finish rotating, all the way thru; chest facing at my target…… Thanks Danny your awsome……

Billy Whizz says:

Fellow Golf Instructor and YouTuber Clay Ballard is also a very good tennis player. He has a separate channel called TopSpeedTennis. Worth checking out.

Alan Goudie says:

Another excellent, very helpful video. We need to practise a lot to get the benefit.
Danny's practice guide is a great help to make sure you are doing it correctly.
Danny made it look easy but if you are a great player it is fairly easy.
Make sure you use empty ball boxes !!
Many thanks to Danny.
I learned this morning my handicap id down to 20*5.
Not bad for a 78 year old with health problems.
Danny has really shown me how to improve.
You young ones should be making more progress than me.

Alistair Gray says:

Hi, can’t find any download material, ran through comments, clicked on links but they only take me to other videos, am I missing something?

Jeffrey Moss says:

Great video. One question: is it easier to manipulate the club face opened or closed just before impact or is it easier to set up with a pre adjusted club face (a little closed or a little open) and maintain a single wrist movement in all swings?

Vortex Prosper says:

Great explanation and keys on getting the feels to control the driver better.

Thomas Sheridan says:

Danny do the new “mini track man devices” selling in the $500 range give me the data you are showing particular the low point relative to the ball. I’ve always hit long but more line drive shots. I know more air time will give me more distance. Thanks Tom. ps any recommendations on which brand mini to get?

k mac1 says:

thanks. Your tips are helping me to become more consistent off of the tee . Still a work in process.

Robert Keller says:

Very interesting video, especially for a longtime slicer. I have a question about step three. When you speak about closing or opening the face is that done at address or is it an adjustment during the swing? Thanks.

Mr AcE says:

Wut great timing. Couldn’t hone in my driver. Went back to basics – “greasing the grooves”. Decided to just swing easy and focus on making contact with inside out path. Hit 10/14 fairways and the rest were still in play. Ball didn’t go as far as normal but It surprisingly exploded off the face still. Tempo was also much better.

Keith Riley says:

Hi Danny. I went to the range today and concentrated on having the bottom of the swing about six inches behind the ball. It worked quite well, but I don’t suppose I shall ever achieve the sort of distances you achieve so apparently effortlessly. The irons were a different matter though. I tried to bottom out the swing about 2 inches ahead of the ball. On hard range mats, this resulted in quite a lot of jarring to my back. Can you give any guidance on this? I never seem to achieve much compression and although I can often hit a pitching wedge over 100 yards, I don’t gain much distance from the longer irons. Maybe 125 yards in flight with a 6 iron is the best I can manage, but usually with a weak fade.

carlos Garcia says:

Great video Danny! I love the tip on the feed back station. I been trying to find out if I am actually hitting up on the ball. You have helped me fix so much in my golf life… add one thing to that list!

Jerry Smiley says:

Low point is my biggest issue….I am just not consistent! I am using a lot of your practice videos and it has really helped my game. When I get that low point in front of the ball with my irons they really go, but the next shot I might hit the ground before the ball. How can I get that low point consistent?

Sean O'B says:

thanks Danny, I was hitting my driver fairly straight sometimes a slight draw, but lately when I started to try and hit with more power, i started getting height, but big banana slices and a noticeable fade at best. I dialed back but it seems the slice is back to stay. I'm going to give this a try in increments with the feedback. Obviously, I want better distance, but you reminded me that I'd be better off with a more consistent drive patten First. Thanks

Malcolm Kirby says:

Thanks Danny for your weekly tips and advice. Trouble is my wife says that I am now enjoying my golf so much she thinks I am having a second childhood !! Great to be able to break 90 for the 1st time 🙂

Auriferous says:

I don't like that I can't swing towards my target as I do that with all other clubs, but I guess I will have to get used to swing towards the right of my target, it's the consequence of the ball being so far forward, thanks 🙂
