  1. Great Video! Does starting the downswing with left shoulder moving down help prevent early extension? When I do this it feels like I can’t early extend which has been my problem lately causing huge hooks due to flipping. Thanks

  3. This video is GREAT. I've watched all your videos. You're awesome Russell, and this short, concise video along with another short video "This Basic Mistake Ruining Your Golf Swing?" on posture are superb. I like how you get right to the point – it makes consuming it easy. Less can be more. There's tons of looooong golf videos swamping YouTube.

  4. Excellent video on the Left Shoulder Move Russell! I have tried to place a heavy concentration on my left shoulder in my swing. I like the fact that you have also brought in the chest area and staying centered in this movement. Something I will try to remember! This video will be archived for future reference!

  5. The left shoulder move to start the downswing is almost a natural move if you get into the right position at the top of the backswing with tilted hips and shoulders with center of pressure in right heel and head leaning a bit closer to and behind the ball- like the leaning tower of Pisa -that creates the much need stretch of arms across the chest parallel shoulders to ready for the transition.

  6. Hi Russell,
Trouble here, great video. However difficult to put into words but I do agree with you that we amateurs do no fully understand the importance of the head and shoulders moving downward in both the takeaway and the downswing. After viewing this video a number of times listening intently to your presentation and applying common sense the penny dropped.
    As always content (graphics) superb.
